Woman Sentenced to Death for Criticizing Sudan President, Omar al-Bashir

Jalila Khamis Koko, 43, a South Kordofan native living in Khartoum, was arrested March 15th, 2012 for criticizing Omar al-Bashir's treatment of her fellow Nubans. Last month she was sentenced to death on treason charges for expressing her views and is currently awaiting execution.
