Bombs Dropped Around Home of Eyes and Ears Nuba Founder

Six bombs dropped today around the home of Ryan Boyette and his wife. Further bombings around Kauda, one killed

I heard the plane first.

I was in my home with friends. My wife was visiting our neighbor.

I ran outside and watched an Antonov plane* circle once above us. Then, after the plane circled the second time, it lifted higher into the clouds.

My friends and I ran and hid in a nearby foxhole.

The first bomb landed 30 meters to the west of the house, the second 50 meters east of the house. The four remaining bombs fell in a line leading out from the first two.

Shrapnel hit an abandoned, locally built home, protecting our home and the home behind ours.

My wife took cover behind a rock. After the third bomb exploded, a large piece of shrapnel flew over her, she said. Luckily, she was not injured.

Together we combed through the area to see if anyone was wounded or killed. The only casualty was a 75-year-old woman named Halima who suffered a minor head injury.

Shards of scattered metal have since been found inside trees and the walls of civilian homes more than 180 meters away.

We also learned that the plane dropped several bombs in and around Kauda, the village south of us, where Mustafa Hamdan Kunda, 35, died as a result.

There are no soldiers stationed in my village, nor were any troops in the area when the bombs fell.
