One month, still no aid from agreement

It has been one month since the Sudan Government and SPLM-N signed a tripartite agreement with the African Union, the League of Arab States and the United Nations. The agreement states that within 2 weeks of signing, an assessment team will access the conflict zone to determine the needs of the affected populations. It is now over one month without any sign of an assessment team and no sign of humanitarian aid reaching the affected populations in South Kordofan and Blue Nile.

August 28 Eyes and Ears Nuba reporters return from a meeting of SPLM-N leaders inside the Nuba Mountains. SPLM-N officials Malik Agar, Yasir Arman and Abdul Aziz addressed military and civil leaders from the Blue Nile State, South Kordofan and other parts of Sudan on military strategies, population concerns, methods for facilitating humanitarian aid and other issues regarding the failures of the recent Tripartite Humanitarian Agreement signed on August 4th, 2012.

PSLM-N and African Union/League of Arab Nations/ U.N. Tripartite sign Humantiarian Assistance Agreement

On August 4, 2012, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North and the African Union/League of Arab States/United Nations Tripartite on Humanitarian Assistance to war-affected civilians in Blue Nile and South Kordofan States has been signed by all parties. The SPLM-N as agreed to an immediate cessation of hostilities for one month with possibility of renewal to allow for an assessment of the region and distribution of humanitarian aid. Also an assessment team will be established and sent to the war torn states within two weeks of the signing of the agreement.

SPLM-N and Sudan Government Meet For Talks

July 23rd SPLM-N representatives met with Sudan government representatives in Addis Ababa to discuss crossing lines for humanitarian aid in Blue Nile and South Kordofan.

Today marks 1 week of protests in the capital and other major towns in Sudan. SRF condones peaceful protests.

Today marks 1 week of protests in the capital and other major towns in Sudan. Also today the Sudan Revolutionary Front issued a statement condoning protests and encouraging people from Southern Kordofan, Blue Nile, and Darfur to participate peacefully in the revolt.
