On December 26, 2012 at exactly 12:30am, a Sudan government airplane dropped a total of 12 bombs in Kauda town wounding Pastor Ayube Ibrahim and killing 3 cows. Kauda is the home to 4 different churches that all celebrate Christmas for three days starting on December 25th.

2 Antonovs Drop 28 Bombs in Kauda

On December 21, 2012, Nuba Reports journalist, Yassin Hassan, witnessed 2 Sudan Antonov airplanes dropping a total of 28 bombs in the town of Kauda in South Kordofan starting at 8:00am. The bombs landed throughout the town including 3 in the main market. Despite the many bombs, no one was reported injured or killed in the attack except for some cattle. This is the largest number of bombs dropped in Kauda in one day since July 2011 when the Sudan government dropped 57 bombs in Kauda Valley.

Sudan Government Bombs Destroy Local NGO in Kauda

On November 21, 2012 at 3:00pm, Nuba Reports journalists witnessed a Sudan government airplane traveling north to south as it dropped a total of 14 bombs in the town of Kauda. 4 of the bombs landed near a local humanitarian NGO compound, destroying two of their buildings. The bombs destroyed the homes of Hamid Kuwa, Walid Eli, Taballa Khamis, and Awad Khalil. 2 civilians, Enas Azhari, age 25, and Manal Kuwa, age 32, suffered minor injuries.

On November 7, 2012 SPLA-N claimed they shot down the Sudan Antonov airplane that bombed Heiban and Kauda earlier in the day.

On October 27, 2012 at 10:30am, a Sudan government Antonov airplane traveling north to south dropped 4 bombs in Heiban town and 4 bombs in Kauda town. Only some livestock were killed in both bombings. No other deaths or injuries were reported.

On October 9, 2012 at 8:00pm Sudan Armed Forces launched a 302mm Weishi rocket into the town of Kauda. There were no reported injuries from the attack but residents of the area described the earth shaking when the rocket exploded.

On June 18, a Sudanese Government Antonov plane bombed Kauda town, dropping a total of 2 bombs and wounding 2.

On June 18th, at approximately 9:00 am, an Antonov plane bombed Kauda town, dropping 2 bombs and wounding 2 civilians: 8-year-old girl named Najwa Jafar was wounded in the arm by a piece of shrapnel, and elementary school teacher Garang, 23 years old, sustained a head injury. Additionally, the homestead of Samia Jamal was destroyed, wiping out some of her remaining food stocks.

On May 11th, Sudanese government plane dropped 6 bombs in a row around home of Eyes and Ears Nuba founder. 1 elderly woman suffered minor wounds. Plane continued north of Kauda and dropped additional 4 bombs, killing a farmer named Mustafa Hamdan.
