SAF Attack SPLA-N in Dal Dako, SPLA-N Capture Arms, Tanks

On December 10, 2012 at 11:00am, Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) conducted an offensive against SPLA-N forces in Dal Dako which is approximately 15 km east of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan. During the attack, the SPLA-N captured 5 tanks, 1 APC, two land cruisers, an unconfirmed number of small arms and destroyed one tank. SAF troops retreated back to Kadugli at 3:00pm.

On November 22, 2012, the Sudan Government arrested several high-ranking officials with the Sudan Armed Forces, Popular Defense Force and the National Security and Intelligence Services allegedly foiling what they claim was a "subversive plot" to destabilize government security and cast doubt about the health of Sudan president, Omer al-Bashir, who recently underwent surgery. Sudan’s information minister and government spokesperson, Ahmed Bilal Osman, insists that al-Bashir is in good health and claims that intercepting the plot avoided "entering the country into chaos."

SPLA-N Claim Control in Um Dehelieb After Offensive Against SAF

On October 14, 2012 the SPLA-N conducted an offensive move against the Sudan Armed Forces' garrison in Um Dehelieb which is located approximately 50km east of Kauda town and 50km south west of Abu Jubaiha town. The SPLA-N claim they took control of the region at 12:00 noon.

On October 9, 2012 at 8:00pm Sudan Armed Forces launched a 302mm Weishi rocket into the town of Kauda. There were no reported injuries from the attack but residents of the area described the earth shaking when the rocket exploded.

SAF Shells Tangal, SPLA-N Shells Kadugli Next Day

On October 7, 2012 Sudan Armed Forces shelled the village of Tangal. The four artillery shells landed within 100 meters of village homesteads. No one was injured by the attack. The SPLA-N shelled Kadugli the following day.

On June 16th, SAF shelled Massakeen with 15 large artillery shells; no injuries or deaths have been reported.

On June 16th, Sudan Armed Forces shelled the area known as Massakeen with 15 large artillery shells. The SPLA-N believe--based on the six of explosion and how the weapon was shot--that the SAF used an Artillery weapon that launches 130mm rounds. No injuries or deaths reported.
