Azhari Guba, 35, is from the Nuba Laggori tribe. He received a degree in Journalism from the Sudan Technical and Science University in Khartoum. Prior to the outbreak of war, Azhari was employed by the Ministry of Information in Southern Kordofan. When the war started, he was separated from his family members. They became refugees in Ethiopia and eventually reunited in Bentiu, South Sudan. As a trained journalist, Azhari feels a responsibility to report on the violence: the bombings, lootings, rapes, and abductions happening in his homeland. He wants his brothers and sisters of Sudan to see what their government is doing to its own people.
